To put it bluntly, the core difference is that one is the need for "upward gain" and the other is the foundation for "bottom line stability". The former points to the optimization of the aesthetic level, and the latter points to the normal operation of physiological functions.
I have been an offline skin management consultant for almost 7 years, and eight out of ten cases of fraud I encountered were due to failure to distinguish between the two. Last month, I picked up a young girl who had just graduated. She came here with the money she had saved for half a year to undergo dermabrasion-level photon peeling and high-concentration fruit acid peeling. She wanted to eliminate the acne marks on her face and make her skin tone two shades whiter. After the visa test, I was stunned. My cheeks were almost red and bloodshot. In the film, she said that when the seasons change, even applying ordinary moisturizing lotion stings, and staying up late will cause redness, swelling, and pimples. This is obviously a sign that the skin barrier has turned red, and she has not even maintained the bottom line of health. She has been doing highly stimulating beauty treatments, which may ruin her face.
In fact, it is easy to understand if you compare your skin to the house you live in. Healthy skin means that the walls are strong, do not leak or let in wind, and the brick joints (sebum film, cuticle) are tightly filled. Living there will keep you warm in winter and cool in summer without any problems.; Beauty means whether the walls are smooth, whether the paint color is good-looking, or even whether to put up a background wall for decoration. The essence is to make the house more to your liking on the basis of its solidity.
Of course, there are always different opinions on the boundary between the two in the industry. Most clinical dermatologists put skin health as an absolute priority. They feel that as long as the skin has no pathological problems, there is no need for additional cosmetic intervention. They even feel that many cosmetic projects add unnecessary burden to the skin.; However, most practitioners engaged in rejuvenation management will feel that reasonable and compliant beauty programs can also feed back skin health. For example, people who adhere to low-energy photons for a long time will have a much slower rate of photoaging, and the probability of seborrheic keratosis, skin sagging and other problems will be lower when they get older. To some extent, it also supports skin health.
To be honest, there is no need to make these two concepts black and white. It is more important to understand the condition of your skin first. If you rarely feel tingling when applying skin care products, and the balance of water and oil is stable. If you occasionally get an acne, it will disappear in two days. If you want to try whitening and anti-aging beauty programs, it is absolutely fine.; But if you keep getting red and itchy, and your acne won’t go away, it’s better to put aside your beauty needs first and lay the “foundation” of your skin firmly. By then, you will find that healthy skin itself is already good-looking.
