      How to clean strawberries:

      1. First, rinse continuously with running tap water for several minutes to remove most of the germs, pesticides and other pollutants on the surface of the strawberries. Note: Do not immerse in water first to prevent pesticides from dissolving in the water and then being absorbed by the strawberries and seeping into the fruit.

      2. Soak the strawberries in rice-washing water (it is better to use the first rice-washing water) and light salt water (add half a spoon of salt to a basin of water) for 3 minutes. Their functions are different. Alkaline rice-washing water can decompose pesticides; light salt water can float insects and insect eggs attached to the surface of the strawberries, making them easy to be washed away by water, and has a certain disinfection effect.

      3. Then use running tap water to rinse away the rice water and salt water as well as any remaining harmful substances. Just rinse it with clean water (or cold boiled water).

Another reminder: Do not remove the stems of the strawberries before washing them to avoid allowing pesticides and pollutants to penetrate into the fruit through the "wounds" during the soaking process, causing contamination instead.

      Strawberry selection:

      1. When selecting, you should try to choose ones that are bright, shiny, strong, and hard to the touch.

      2. Avoid buying strawberries that are too big, and strawberries that are too juicy.

      3. Don’t buy deformed strawberries that look weird.

      4. It is best to choose strawberries with bright surface and fine fuzz.
