Gynecological health knowledge lecture
90% of common gynecological problems can be avoided through small daily habits. You don't have to scare yourself with Baidu search results, and you can't just ignore it because you are young.
Last week, I was attending a free clinic at a community health service center and met a 28-year-old girl. She was clutching HPV positive report sheets from three different hospitals. Her eyes were swollen like walnuts. She said that she had searched all night and had drafted a suicide note. In fact, it is not necessary. To put it bluntly, HPV infection is like catching a cold on the cervix. 80% of people with normal immunity will clear the virus on their own within 1-2 years. Only if you continue to be infected with high-risk HPV for more than 5 years, you are likely to develop cervical precancerous lesions or even cancer. This probability is actually lower than if you are hit by a car when you go out. Regarding the frequency of HPV screening, there are indeed two different voices in the industry: One is the guideline of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association. Women under the age of 30 have strong immunity. As long as they do TCT screening every year, there is no need for routine HPV testing. ; The other is that most of our front-line clinical doctors will recommend that women who have had sexual intercourse for more than 3 years should do a TCT+HPV joint screening every 2-3 years. After all, no one can guarantee that their immunity will be able to withstand the virus. Early detection is always a good thing.
When it comes to daily care, it is really the hardest hit area. Don't tell me, I always meet three or four patients a month who suffer from vulvitis due to excessive cleaning. There is no absolute standard answer when it comes to cleaning private parts: Under normal circumstances, washing the vulva with warm water is enough. The vagina has its own microbial flora. If you wash it carelessly, it will wash away the beneficial bacteria and allow pathogenic bacteria to take advantage of the opportunity to cause chaos. ; However, if you are a patient with recurrent fungal vaginitis, during the inflammation period, the doctor may also recommend using a weakly acidic private parts care solution to clean the vulva to help adjust the local pH value. This depends on the specific situation and cannot be generalized. Not long ago, I met a 22-year-old girl who came to see a doctor. She said that she was very particular about hygiene. She used panty liners every day and changed her underwear twice a day. How could she have fungal vaginitis? When I asked, I found out that the pads she bought were scented, and they lasted all day. An airtight environment is inherently prone to mold growth, and the scent additives can also irritate the vulva mucosa.
Let’s talk about the most frequently asked menstrual issue. Many little girls panic when their menstrual period is delayed for two or three days. In fact, as long as your cycle is within the range of 21-35 days, each time it is early or late by no more than 7 days, and the amount of bleeding is normal, it is not a problem. There is also the issue of whether you can eat ice cream during menstruation. We have been arguing about it for many years. There is indeed no clear taboo in Western medicine. If you have been accustomed to eating ice cream since you were a child, eating ice cream during menstruation will not cause any problems. You can eat it. ; But if you break into a cold sweat every time you touch something cold, or you have problems with dysmenorrhea or light menstruation, then the traditional Chinese medicine advice of eating less raw and cold food is definitely correct. There is no need to suffer in order to succeed.
Finally, I would like to remind everyone, don’t believe those “private part detox gels” and “ovary maintenance massages” on the Internet. I just had a patient a while ago, and he used the detox gel bought online for half a year. It was good at first, but in the end it was found that the vaginal flora was severely imbalanced, and it also induced cervicitis. The ovaries are deep in the stomach and cannot be touched by massage. Most of the so-called maintenance essential oils are hormones. If they are applied randomly, they may disrupt endocrine and cause more harm than good.
What I’m talking about today are all my honest words after working in clinical obstetrics and gynecology for 8 years and encountering thousands of cases. There are no fancy terms, they are all things that everyone can use in daily life. If you are really uncomfortable, don't scare yourself by checking it out on Baidu. Go to a regular hospital and get a gynecology number. It costs more than ten yuan, which is more reliable than anything else.
