There is no "best" anti-anxiety drug that is suitable for everyone. All related drugs are prescription psychiatric drugs and must be taken according to the doctor's advice after evaluation by a psychiatrist. They must not be purchased and taken by themselves.
A while ago, I received a consultation from a teacher who was engaged in teaching and training. He was under great pressure from leading the graduating class for half a year. Gradually, he started to feel a weight on his chest. His heartbeat suddenly became so fast during class that he could not breathe. I went to check for heart problems, but nothing happened. I heard from friends that alprazolam was effective, so I bought a bottle through channels. Sometimes I took three or four tablets a day. In the end, I was so groggy that I couldn't even remember the knowledge points when I came to the doctor. His condition was a typical acute panic attack combined with chronic generalized anxiety. I first slowly stopped him from short-acting sedative drugs and replaced him with a small dose of escitalopram. In the first two weeks, he also complained of slight nausea and drowsiness. After getting through the drug adaptation period, the frequency of attacks was significantly less. When he came for a follow-up visit last month, he said that he could complete a whole class normally, and he had never been out of breath again.
Of course, you don’t have to take medicine whenever you encounter anxiety. Many people only have mood swings when they encounter temporary stress events. For example, they have to participate in an important professional title review next week and are so nervous that they can’t sleep in the first two or three days. This can be adjusted by exercising and preparing in advance. If you really feel that panic affects your performance, you can also find a doctor to prescribe a small amount of propranolol. Taking half a tablet before going on the field can suppress the fast heartbeat without affecting the thinking state and has almost no side effects.
There are a lot of controversies about anti-anxiety drugs on the Internet. Some people say that these drugs are "psychotropic drugs" that cannot be stopped after taking them. Others think that as long as the mood is not right, you should take drugs to suppress it. Both views are quite extreme. In fact, anti-anxiety drugs are more like the braces you use after sprained ankles. They will not directly help you heal the sprained ligaments, but they will allow you to walk normally without having to endure the pain all the time. They will also give your body and emotions room to recover. When your condition slowly adjusts, the doctor will gradually reduce the medication until it is discontinued. As long as you follow the doctor's instructions, there will be almost no dependence problems.
After all, everyone's anxiety triggers, severity, and body tolerance are different. Someone else's effective medicine may have side effects on you. If you really feel that your mood is not right, don't blindly buy medicines by looking for guides. Go to the psychiatry or psychological department of a regular hospital to register. It is more reliable than anything else.
