Urethritis is a common disease of the urinary system, more common in women, and is mainly caused by unclean or unclean washing utensils. Urethritis will have a great impact on a woman's life and work, so it must be treated in time. Motherland’s medicine has a long history and has few side effects when treating diseases. Therefore, many female friends use traditional Chinese medicine to treat urethritis. So what are the methods of traditional Chinese medicine to treat urethritis?
1. Lower coke damp heat type
This type is characterized by frequent short and astringent urination, or yellow-white turbid fluid flowing out of the urethra. Women may experience itching, heavy vaginal discharge, and lower abdominal pain. Patients are often accompanied by symptoms such as bitter mouth and sticky mouth, epigastric distension, red tongue with yellow and greasy coating, and stringy and slippery pulse. This is due to the invasion of damp-heat poisonous evil into the lower burner, poor gasification of the bladder, and inability to distinguish secretion from turbidity. Treatment should be to clear away heat and dampness, detoxify and resolve turbidity. Commonly used prescriptions are as follows:
Acorus 20g, Plantago 10g, Cortex Phellodendron 10g, Atractylodes 10g, Salvia miltiorrhiza 30g, Lotus Seed Heart 10g, Sophora vulgaris 30g, Honeysuckle 30g, Smilax 30g, Raw licorice 10g
If the pain is obvious, 30g of Hedyotis diffusa and 30g of Verbena can be added; if the secretion is long, 10g of Akebia and 1.0g of Alisma can be added. This prescription contains plantain seeds and lotus seeds to clear away heat and dehumidify, as well as calamus, Phellodendron, sorrel, honeysuckle, smilax, and raw licorice to detoxify and transform turbidity.
Traditional Chinese medicine believes that non-gonococcal urethritis is caused by uncleanness, unclean washing utensils, or careless diet. Damp-heat poison invades the lower burner and injures the genitourinary system. Subsequently, symptoms such as qi and blood stasis, spleen and kidney deficiency occur. Therefore, clinically, this disease is often divided into three types of treatment: damp heat in the lower burner, qi and blood stasis, and spleen and kidney deficiency.
2. Qi and blood stasis type
Common symptoms include difficulty in urination, or turbid discharge from the urethral opening, or abnormal leucorrhea, lower abdominal distension and pain, dark tongue, white coating, and stringy and thin pulse. This is caused by long-term illness entering the meridians, or by damp-heat evil blocking the meridians and qi and blood stasis. Treatment should be to promote qi and blood circulation, resolve turbidity and relieve pain. Commonly used drugs are modified and subtracted Gexia Zhuyu Decoction:
Angelica 10g, Chuanxiong 10g, red peony root 10g, peach kernel 10g, Citrus aurantium 10g, Yuanhu 10g, Wulingzhi 10g, Wuyao 10g, Cyperus rotundus 10g, Achyranthes 10g, Smilax 30g, Talc 20g, raw licorice 10g
If urinary pain is obvious, 30g of Hedyotis diffusa and 10g of Bamboo leaves can be added. Angelica sinensis, Chuanxiong rhizome, red peony root, peach kernel, and Wulingzhi all have the effect of activating blood circulation and removing blood stasis. Citrus aurantium, Yuanhu, Wuyao, Cyperus cyperus regulates qi and stagnation, while Smilax, talc, and raw licorice detoxify and remove dampness.
3. Spleen and kidney deficiency type
The main symptoms are inexhaustible urination, onset of urination upon exertion, or white turbidity at the urethral opening, excessive leucorrhea in women, soreness of the waist and knees, loose stools, pale tongue, and soft pulse. This is due to mistreatment of chronic illness, which damages the spleen and kidneys. Treatment should be to strengthen the spleen and kidneys, remove dampness and resolve turbidity. Commonly used prescriptions include Sijunzi Decoction and Liuwei Dihuang Pills:
Codonopsis 10g, Astragalus 30g, Atractylodes 10g, Poria 30g, Chinese yam 30g, Dogwood 10g, Rehmannia 10g, Alisma 10g, paeonol 10g, Achyranthes bidentata 10g, Honeysuckle 30g
Codonopsis pilosula, astragalus, Atractylodes, Poria, and Chinese yam all have the effect of strengthening the spleen and removing dampness; Cornus officinalis and Rehmannia glutinosa nourish the kidney; Alisma, paeonol, Achyranthes root, and Lonicera vine can diuretic, activate blood circulation, and detoxify.
