There is usually no significant pain during circumcision, and there may be slight pain after the anesthesia wears off.

Circumcision surgery is usually performed under local anesthesia. After the anesthesia takes effect, the surgical area will temporarily lose consciousness and there will be no pain during the operation. After the operation, the anesthesia effect gradually wears off, and you may experience slight pain or discomfort at the surgical incision. This pain is mostly a dull pain that lasts for 1-3 days and is usually bearable. Pain levels vary from person to person and are related to personal tolerance, post-operative care and the presence of infection.

If severe pain occurs or pain lasts for more than 3 days after surgery, it may indicate complications such as wound bleeding and infection, and timely medical treatment is required. Keeping the wound clean and dry, avoiding strenuous exercise, and wearing loose underwear can help reduce postoperative discomfort. Depending on the degree of pain, you can use analgesics such as ibuprofen tablets and acetaminophen tablets as directed by your doctor to relieve symptoms.

After surgery, the dressing should be changed regularly according to the doctor's instructions to avoid water or friction on the wound. Pay attention to avoid spicy and irritating foods in your diet, and eat more fresh vegetables and fruits to promote wound healing. Sexual life and strenuous exercise are prohibited within 1 month after surgery to prevent wound dehiscence. If you find any abnormalities such as redness, swelling, exudation, or fever in the wound, you should seek medical attention immediately.
